Rong Xue

I'm a Master student of Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I have been a member of SJTU MVIG lab since 2020. I am very fortunate to work under the supervision of Prof. Cewu Lu during Master's study. Prior to that, I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Research

My research lies at the intersection of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Robotics.
I worked on digital humans during Master's study, focusing on pose estimation and 3D human reconstruction. I am especially interested in high reconstruction fidelity in texture and cloth.
My current focus is on robotic manipulation and robot learning.
My goal is to enable robots with human-like abilities to interact with the world safely and efficiently.

Miscellanea

  1. Keen language learner🌏. I am fluent in English and Mandarin (mother tongue), and I am learning Japanese, Cantonese, and French. I can also speak in Shanghainese and understand Suzhounese (Suzhou dialect) and Jiang-Huai Mandarin (Hefei dialect). Always exploring Etymology...
  2. Fast and self-motivated learner📚⏩. Always immerse myself in learning. I prepared for 2 months and received the second prize (top 1%) in Shanghai high school chemistry competition in 2016. I prepared from scratch for a month and got 333 in GRE in 2023.
  3. Chemistry enthusiast🧪. I am fascinated by molecular geometry and organic chemistry (albeit too many name reactions).
  4. Music lover🎧. I play the flute since 8. Popular music, ACGN music, KPOP, and musicals are appealing to me. My favorite icon is Miley Cyrus (since 2008) and I enjoy the rap songs by NF.
  5. Sports fan🏐⚽. Play volleyball and badminton. Fan of Arsenal, FC Bayern München, and Germany national football team.
  6. Couch potato📼. I especially enjoy comedy and detective series. Huge fan of Dark and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The most recent favorites are Ludwig and Moonflower Murders.
  7. Dog person🐕🐾. Would die for a dog.
  8. Ametaur photographer📸. Beginner in street photography, trying to seize the transient moment.
