Rong Xue

I am now visiting the GVL Laboratory at the University of Southern California. Thrilled to work with Prof. Yue Wang and the team😃.
I had been a member of Shanghai Jiao Tong University MVIG lab from 2020 to 2025. I was very fortunate to work under the supervision of Prof. Cewu Lu during Master's study.
Prior to that, I received my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Research

My research lies at the intersection of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Robotics.
I worked on digital humans during Master's study, focusing on pose estimation and 3D human reconstruction. I am especially interested in high reconstruction fidelity in texture and cloth.
I am currently focusing on robotic manipulation and robot learning.
My goal is to enable robots with human-like abilities to interact with the world safely and efficiently.

1. Meritorious Winner (Global Top 6%) in 2019 Mathematical Contest in Modeling (MCM).
2. Second Prize in 2019 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM).
3. Academic Excellence Scholarship (Class A) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2023.
4. Outstanding Graduates in Shanghai (Top 3%) in 2021.
5. Second prize (top 1%) in Shanghai High School Chemistry Competition in 2016.

Miscellanea

1. Keen language learner🌏. I am fluent in English and Mandarin (mother tongue). Learning Japanese, Cantonese, and French. I can also speak in Shanghainese and understand Suzhounese and Jiang-Huai Mandarin. Always exploring Etymology...
2. Sports fan🏐⚽. Play volleyball and badminton. Fan of Arsenal FC, FC Bayern München, and Germany national football team.
